DEPARTURE POINT: LEE WHARF & HARBOUR SQUARE BOAT DOCK

NOVA Cruises utilise the commercial vessel facilities at Lee Wharf and Harbour Square Boat Dock, either side of the former Maritime Centre at 3 Honeysuckle Drive Newcastle. Cruises on "Bay Connections" depart on the Eastern Side of the former Maritime Centre building at Harbour Square Boat Dock and cruises aboard "The Princess" depart on the Western side of the former Maritime Centre building at Lee Wharf Pontoon. The facility is a short 377m stroll (approx 5 min) from the Civic Light Rail Station, or 1.2km (approx 19 min) walk from the Wickham/Newcastle interchange. Nearby businesses include; SUBWAY, Cold Rock Ice Creamery, Hog's Breath Café, The Honeysuckle Hotel and Rydges Newcastle (formally Crown Plaza). PARKING

Honeysuckle and the inner city is rapidly evolving with new developments, light rail and construction underway.  A great site to find the most suitable parking for you is https://www.parkopedia.com.au

When on the parkopedia site it will ask "Where are you going" type in 3 Honeysuckle Drive Newcastle. Select this option and enter your required dates and times needed and information on suitable parking places will become available.

Some nearby options include Throsby car park at the start of Honeysuckle Drive (formally Wharf Road). http://www.carepark.com.au/find-a-care-park/throsby-car-park/ Casual parking starts at $3 for 1 hr, $6 for 2hrs and $8.50 for 2+ hours

Public parking is also available behind the restored railway workshop buildings which house the Newcastle Museum in a public car park which runs parallel with Civic Station on Wright Lane. http://www.carepark.com.au/find-a-care-park/wright-lane-car-park-newcastle/ Casual parking starts at $3 for 1 hr, $6 for 2hrs and $8.50 for 2+ hours. The car park is divided into timed sections so please check signage when parking.

Private carparks exist at 11 Argyle St (Secure Parking)  and on the corner of Wharf Road, Argle St and Centenary Rd (Wilson Parking) . Both private carparks offer a discounted weekend flat rate (Secure $3 online ($5 drive up) operating hours 6:30am - 7pm /  Wilson $5 operating hours 24/7) check their website for weekday rates.

Everyday free parking exists on Hannel St, Wickham which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Lee Wharf Pontoon or catch the light from the Newcastle interchange to the Civic Light Rail station and head across to the water 377 meters approx 5min) .

BUS / COACH PARKING

A tourist bus park exists on Honeysuckle Drive near the entrance to the Regional Museum. A bus zone and passenger drop off area is available outside the former Maritime Centre which adjoins Lee Wharf Pontoon, an additional bus zone is available out front of the building at 17 Honeysuckle Drive.

BOARDING TIMES

Please allow sufficient time to find a park and to walk to the vessels at Lee Wharf or Harbour Square Boat Dock. Cruises start boarding 15 minutes prior to departure times. Please plan to arrive for your boarding time rather than departure time. Due to operational requirements and respect for fellow cruisers it is not always possible to delay a cruise for latecomers.
